Hello. It's been a while, as usual. I'll go into some previous Minecraft stuff I've written below, feel free to read it, but it's not my best work... by far. I was pretty young when I wrote most of this stuff - but I thought I'd just put it out there. Please tweet me with any ideas on filling in [unfinished] things! Thanks! :D Click that little "Read More" button down below! :D \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ Custom Machines - Detail 2 of v1 This one is about power generation. To power CMs, you need power. And a 1 UP/t just isn't going to do it, is it? So, we have the Generator Planner to help. Step 1: Use the sliders to specify the range of UP/t you want to produce. Step 2: Look at the available options, and print the quote for the one you want. Step 3: Put the quote in the Generator Builder and put in all the required ingredients. Step 4: Click "Build Generator" and put the required fuel and wait the required time for your generator to be built. Step 5: Shift+hover over the generator to see instructions on generator installation. Step 6: Install, wire up, power! Custom Machines - v2 Info ===Early Game=== •Sticks & Stones Custom Machines (CM) will make early game a bigger deal. It will sort of be like TerraFirmaCraft (TFC), but not nearly as drastic. First, punching trees = not going to work. Like in TFC, break leaves to get a stick. To get some stones, right click rocky soil (spawns randomly, looks similar to grass blocks with a tint, use Waila or right click around to find some) until you get some. Then use the stones to make some cobble for a stone axe, shovel, and pickaxe. •Ores Then continue like vanilla, but notice that ores are a bit different. Regular ore blocks are rare, but you can get ore bits randomly scattered around. Smelt each bit and get a nugget of that ore, and minimal fuel is needed. Put 2 wood planks in a crafting table to get 8 chunks of wood, these smelt 1 ore bit each. •Generating Power To make power, you can use 4 different methods for early game - the Wind Generator, the Hydroelectric Generator, the Manual Generator, or the Solar Generator. The Wind Generator will produce up to 1 Unit of Power (UP) per tick when outside. The Hydroelectric Generator will produce up to 1 UP/t when placed in flowing water (the flowing water and the generator can and must occupy the same block). The Manual Generator will produce up to 1 UP/t when a player right clicks the crank part of it. The Solar Generator will produce up to 1 UP/t when in the sun. •Transmitting Power The early-game way to transmit power is with Metallic Redstone Wire. This has a small chance to light adjacent blocks on fire, spark, etc. It also has a 5% loss every block of wire. You can make various improve to to this later on. Batteries can store power. You can craft the Simple Energy Manager as well, which allows you to charge/drain batteries and route power. •Using Power One of the best early-game things that uses power is the Ore Processor. It needs a little bit of power (0.75 UP/t) and an initial investment of a block of coal, but after that can process 8 ore bits at a time and produce 1 ingot. To get ores better, the Advanced Ore Processor makes it possible to extract tiny little ore fragments from rock. To produce 1 ingot, it uses 150 UP - stone processing uses 125, compressing and smelting uses 25. First, put cobblestone or mined stone (convert stone to mined stone with crafting) in the input slot. Then, it will break up the cobblestone into a powder. Then, it will sift the powder into 0-4 stones and between 0-4 ore dusts of various types. It will store the ore dusts until it has sifted enough to get 25 ore dust of one type. Once it has, it will compress the ore dusts into an ingot/full item. Another thing added by CM is the Flashlight. Stick a battery in it and right click to have a beam of light emit from the flashlight, making mobs not be able to spawn there and increasing the light level to 12. (Battery stores 2500 UP, Flashlight uses 0.5 UP/t = lasts for 2 hrs, 10 mins of Earth time) Another useful tool is the Safe Place Spawner. This, using a battery, will suck up 500 UP to put you in a safe little hut with a cake room, regen shower, and more for 45 seconds. It will also give debuffs to mobs within 75 blocks of the use of the Safe Place Spawner. Also, breaking stone/cobblestone (stone is MUCH better) with a Pulverizing Drill will not only use 10 UP of the battery attached, but turn the stone into stone powder, 0-4 stones and between 0-4 ore dusts of various types, which you can combine 25 in a 5x5 Crafter to make an ingot. (You'll learn about that later.) You can also put the dusts in the Advanced Ore Processor via hopper, etc to make it process the dusts into an ingot. •Mobs Only 1 new one: the Energy Trader. Give him what he wants and a battery and you got power. •Special Crafting Special Crafting Table: Crazy easy to craft, but starts out not-so-special - a 2x2 crafting table. That takes time to craft. Yay. But, upgrade it with a crafting table in the top right, and it's a 3x3. 4 Crafting Tables = 4x4 Crafting Upgrade, and stick that in the top right to get 4x4. And for 4x4s, you start needing power. And life essence. And vis. And any other thing that CM can come up with. 16 crafting tables = 5x5 upgrade, etc until 100x100 upgrade. But 9x9, 27x27, and 81x81 are special - when you use 9, 27, or 81 crafting tables, you get a project crafting table upgrade. For things that require multiple iterations of crafting (*cough* IC2 *cough*) you can craft the item for the top left slot in the top left 3x3 slots, etc and CM will simul-craft the item. Best yet, this is a ton easier with an upcoming NEI Special Crafting Addon, which adds 9x9, 27x27, and 81x81 buttons, which you can click and shift click like normal into that table. But, you can also control click all buttons (including the regular ?) to see all resources required. You can even take that a step back to see which raw materials are needed for the item. •Config Settings Don't like the no punch wood thing? Want more regular ores? Well, every single feature from CM can be disabled via the config file, including chances of mobs, ores, ore bits, rocky soil, etc to spawn; power multiplier for power consumption and production; light level of flashlight, how much UP a battery stores, how much UP/t certain generators produce and machines use; how much UP = 1 EU, or EU = 1 UP; etc. •Mod Compatibility CM needs rubber trees, copper, silver, plastic, etc. and if it is stand-alone, it will provide all of that itself. But, if you have a mod installed like IndustrialCraft, Thermal Expansion, MineFactory Reloaded, etc., those mods rubber/ores will override CMs ores, so you don't have yet another kind of copper to worry about :). Also, it will inherit textures from other mods for ore bits, dusts, etc. Power compatibility is great too. CM has carefully made power conversions with other mods, and if you can craft the Mod Power Converter Box and put another mod's cable going into it, and CM cable going out of it and it will let you know with a nice GUI it's conversion rates. To learn all of this in-game with another slick GUI, use the Machinist's Guide and the Engineer's HUD. It will say "Encoded Knowledge" in grey when hovered over. To decode the knowledge written on the page, put the page in a decoder which will either accept redstone in the bottom slot or a power line from any mod (similar to IC2 electric furnace). Put the written page in the top slot and 2500 RF worth of power via any cable or redstone/capacitor/battery/etc. in bottom slot. If charged, the decoder will take 5 seconds to decode the page as indicated by the arrow turning white like a furnace. When the page is decoded, you can see what subject the knowledge is. To craft a knowledge book, simply put leather on the left and all 6 different pages (engineering, design, mathematics, science, technology, electricity) in the remaining slots. The knowledge book can be used 100 times in a machine planner, which can use up to 10 uses per custom machine (more about this later) before needing to be replaced. To make this easier, there is a machine similar to the decoder - the copier - that will copy knowledge pages on to vanilla paper. If you already crafted the book, you can put the book in a printing press from BiblioCraft to copy it or break it in an item frame to get 5 written, encoded pages back. Another way to get written pages with encoded knowledge is to summon an intelligent villager, which you can do by surrounding an upward facing piston with 4 iron blocks in corners, 4 crafting tables on sides, drop an emerald on the piston, power the piston from the bottom. The summoning ritual will destroy the blocks used to create it, but drop a random amount of iron nuggets (50-225) and iron ingots (5-10). You can do this by a Quest Power Input block, or inputting power directly from your inventory from things like capacitors, charged machines, tools, etc. Note: This isn't skyblock. I prefer to be called lifeofchrome online, and if you know my real name I request that you not share it. Programming is my main interest, of which I use to create algorithms and software packages with excellent quality and design. With Minecraft I infuse my skills in programming, and create seamless mechanisms, whether it be command block systems or complex redstone machines. My other passion is graphic design, where I strive to create elegant and clean designs that are instantly recognizable, sleek, and simple, as you can see by my channel art design. As for videos on this channel, I don't see myself having a schedule of videos, rather I will upload whatever I do whenever it's done. Projects currently in progress are: Floors - map for slicedlime's Entrapment minigame, Custom Machines - a Minecraft mod, and Electrominecarts - a Minecraft map recreating the iOS game Electrotrains. I plan to upload updates of what I'm working on as I embark on new projects and finish old ones. Thank you for watching. Minecraft Command Block/MCEdit Filter RequestI'm looking for a way to target entities following number patterns or based on values on a scoreboard with respect to proximity to the nearest player. Let me explain further. Either of these will work for me: Option 1: Precondition: There is at least one entity in the world besides the player. Postcondition: A scoreboard value or custom NBT tag for entities following a specific number pattern such as Fibonacci or multiples of 5 as their ranking on proximity to the player. Example: For Fibonacci, the first, second, third, fifth, eighth, thirteenth, etc. closest entities to the player receive a scoreboard value or custom NBT tag. Option 2: Same precondition as option 1 Postconditon: A scoreboard value or custom NBT tag for entities that have their proximity ranking (1st closest, 2nd closest, etc) to the player as a value on a specific scoreboard objective. If there was 1, 5, 8, 9, 11, 13, and 16 as the scoreboard values the respective 1st, 5th, etc. closest entities to the player should have a scoreboard value/custom NBT tag. On a Multiplayer Minecraft SpeedrunThe Multiplayer Minecraft Speedrun
The Overall Idea The idea came to me a long time ago when I saw the first Minecraft speedrun, but recently came back to me with Illumina’s 4-man Co-op speedrun of Diversity 2’s parkour branch. I remembered my idea, polished it some, and am now making this written concept of The Multiplayer Minecraft Speedrun. It’s interesting, involves the community, and has potential for a huge appeal. The concept is simple - kill the ender dragon in Minecraft as fast as possible using a certain amount of players. At first the optimal category for a multiplayer speedrun is set seed glitchless. Assigning a few extremely specific and easy tasks to every player with specified coordinates can make a flawless speedrun. A possible example:
